February 4, 2012My first day as a Marine recruit mom….
January 19, 2012Wow, I have been so busy getting my son ready for leaving for bootcamp and having only snail mail contact for 12 weeks. Wow! The reality really hit me today. I woke up at 2 a.m. and began writing in my journal for about two hours. I was not expecting my flood of emotions, I thought those had all come and gone prior to his shipping out. Oh no, there was so much more to come. Made my morning when I got the “official” phone call that he had safely arrived at Camp Pendleton even if it was two sentences and very monotone, certainly not a two way conversation. I at least got to say I love you Ethan before he hung up!
